Storms Cut Power to Over 18,000 Across Midwest States

Severe storms across multiple states have left thousands of customers without power in several regions. In the four-state area, southeastern Kansas's Crawford County reported about 3,800 outages, while southwestern Missouri's McDonald County had nearly 2,000 customers affected. The Kansas City metro area saw over 8,000 power outages, notably impacting eastern Johnson County, Kansas, and western Jackson County, Missouri, amid severe thunderstorm warnings with hail and strong winds. In Missouri, nearly 600 customers were without power in Macon County, with an additional 401 outages reported in Adair County. Siouxland experienced multiple outages affecting over 3,000 customers across Sioux City, Storm Lake, and surrounding towns, with some areas uncertain about restoration times. These outages highlight the widespread impact of recent severe weather across the Midwest.
