Samaritan Plans Mid-2026 Affiliation With MultiCare To Enhance Pacific Northwest Healthcare

Samaritan Health Services, based in Corvallis, Oregon, will become part of Tacoma-based MultiCare Health System following board approvals, with the affiliation expected to finalize in mid-2026. This partnership marks MultiCare's first health system presence in Oregon and aims to secure the future of nonprofit healthcare in the mid-Willamette Valley by expanding access, investing in technology, and maintaining local governance. MultiCare has committed to a 10-year investment plan to modernize Samaritan’s facilities, expand Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center’s inpatient capacity, grow primary and specialty care services, and introduce telehealth capabilities. Both organizations emphasize that there will be no immediate changes for patients, employees, or health plan members, and Samaritan will continue operating normally during the transition. The affiliation is expected to enhance healthcare quality, support affordability, and advance health equity across the region.
