Lehrmann's lawyer, Zali Burrows, cited difficulties in recovering $117,000 in court costs as a reason for the delays, asserting that this money is crucial for finalizing the appeal with senior barrister Guy Reynolds. Lehrmann is also facing a $2 million costs order and is required to deposit $200,000 as security for Network Ten's legal costs before his appeal proceeds. The court has set a one-day hearing for October to address these financial obligations and the appeal's status. Justice Wendy Abraham expressed concern over the repeated breaches of court orders and emphasized the need for timely compliance.
