Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a man found at a home in Palmdale following a more than seven-hour standoff with a suspect. Deputies initially responded to a welfare check at the 37400 block of Oxford Drive at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and discovered the deceased man inside the residence. A suspect then barricaded himself, prompting the Special Enforcement Bureau to intervene around 1:50 p.m. Nearby homes were evacuated for safety, and the standoff ended at 9:22 p.m. with the suspect's arrest. Homicide detectives are actively investigating the case, but additional details about the deceased man and the relationship between the suspect and victim remain unclear.
