Vallejo Police Arrest Pokémon Card Robbery Suspect After Crash
In Vallejo, California, a suspect dubbed the "Pokémon Bandit" was arrested following a robbery involving high-value Pokémon cards worth $2,600. The suspect, posing as a buyer during an arranged meetup, pepper sprayed one of the sellers in the face while attempting to flee on an electric scooter. Although the suspect tried to escape, the victims managed to recover their cards and provided a detailed description that linked him to two other similar robberies involving pepper spray assaults. The suspect was apprehended the next day after a traffic collision near Tuolumne and Broadway streets, where police recognized him and found evidence including a ski mask, electric scooter, and cellphone. Following medical clearance, he was booked into Solano County Jail on charges of robbery and assault with a chemical agent. Authorities confirmed the suspect lived near the scene of the crimes and credited the victims for their cooperation in identifying him.
