Nebraska Pitcher Drew Christo Signs Free Agent Deal with Atlanta Braves

Drew Christo, a senior pitcher from Nebraska and Elkhorn native, has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves and reported to their spring training complex to begin his professional baseball career. Christo is the third pitcher from Nebraska's 2025 team to join a Major League Baseball organization this summer, following Mason McConnaughey and Luke Broderick, who were drafted earlier. During his final collegiate season, Christo posted a 3-2 record with a 5.61 ERA in a team-high 31 appearances, striking out 51 batters in 51.1 innings and holding opponents to a .260 batting average. Over his four years with the Huskers, he accumulated seven wins, two saves, a 4.98 ERA, and 128 strikeouts across 64 appearances, including 13 starts. Atlanta has shown a growing interest in Nebraska pitchers, with several others in their organization, including major leaguers and prospects. Christo's signing continues the trend of Nebraska pitchers advancing to the professional level through the Braves organization.
