Ryan Murphy's FX Series 'The Shards' Casts Evan Rachel Wood, Wes Bentley for 1980s LA Drama

Ryan Murphy is producing a new FX TV series adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 2023 novel "The Shards," a dark coming-of-age thriller set in 1981 Los Angeles. The story follows a 17-year-old Ellis during his final year at the elite Buckley prep school, where the arrival of a mysterious student, Robert Mallory, coincides with the activities of a serial killer known as The Trawler. Evan Rachel Wood has joined the cast in a recurring role, though her specific character has not been disclosed.
