Multiple Shootings in Charlotte, Worcester Leave One Dead, One Seriously Injured

Early Sunday there were two separate shootings in Charlotte: just after midnight near Nations Ford Road close to I‑77 left one person with life‑threatening injuries who was transported by MEDIC to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, and around 1:25 a.m. near Coyote Joe’s on Wilkinson Boulevard officers found a man who died at the scene. Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Police say the west Charlotte death is the fourth homicide they have investigated in less than 24 hours, and investigations into both incidents remain ongoing. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact detectives at 704‑432‑8477 or call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704‑334‑1600. Separately, Massachusetts State Police reported an overnight shooting in Worcester around 2 a.m. that hospitalized one person and prompted closure of the I‑290 West ramp to Route 146 South until about 5 a.m. while the scene was preserved.
