Cam Ward Named Heisman Trophy Finalist

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward has been named a finalist for the 2024 Heisman Trophy, alongside Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Colorado's Travis Hunter, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Ward leads the nation with 36 passing touchdowns and has set new school records with 4,123 passing yards, guiding Miami to its first 10-win season since 2016. Jeanty has also had a standout season, rushing for 2,497 yards, which is the fourth-highest single-season total in FBS history, and he is just 131 yards shy of breaking Barry Sanders' all-time record. Hunter, a dual-threat player, has excelled as both a receiver and a defensive back, leading the Big 12 in receptions and earning Defensive Player of the Year honors. The Heisman Trophy winner will be announced on December 14 during a live ceremony in New York City.
