Pursuit Ends in Eight-Vehicle Crash in Virginia
On November 18, a high-speed pursuit by an Augusta County Sheriff’s Office deputy of a blue Acura ended in an eight-car crash in Fishersville, injuring multiple individuals, one seriously. The chase began when the driver, identified as 36-year-old Justin Riley Harvey of Stuarts Draft, failed to yield at an intersection. Despite the deputy's attempts to pin the vehicle, Harvey drove recklessly and eventually rear-ended another car at the intersection of Long Meadow and Jefferson Highway. Harvey was apprehended at the scene and transported to Augusta Health for minor injuries, while several others were taken for treatment. He faces multiple charges, including felony malicious wounding and firearm-related offenses, stemming from prior warrants. The Virginia State Police and Augusta County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation into the incident.
