Chris Sale of the Atlanta Braves has been awarded the 2024 National League Cy Young Award, marking his first win in 14 seasons. He achieved the pitching Triple Crown with an impressive 18-3 record, a 2.38 ERA, and 225 strikeouts, making him the first National League pitcher to do so since Clayton Kershaw in 2011. This season also saw Sale being named to his eighth All-Star game and winning the Comeback Player of the Year Award. He received 26 first-place votes in the BBWAA voting, with Jack Wheeler from the Philadelphia Phillies finishing second. Sale's victory further cements the Braves' legacy as the second franchise with the most Cy Young winners, now totaling eight. To honor his achievement, the Braves will distribute a special bobblehead to fans during a game next April.
