Arch Insurance Launches US Marine Division, Appoints Jeff Kaufmann

Arch Insurance North America has launched a new U.S. Marine division by appointing Jeff Kaufmann as Executive Vice President, Head of Marine, effective July 7, 2025. Kaufmann, who brings 35 years of experience in marine insurance including his previous role as EVP and Head of Marine at MSIG USA, will develop comprehensive Ocean and Inland Marine product offerings and build a specialized underwriting team in New York. Reporting to Valerie Turpin, Chief Underwriting Officer for Property, Kaufmann's expertise in managing complex risks and form development is seen as critical to Arch's strategy to expand its specialty insurance lines. CEO Matt Shulman highlighted the strong market demand for broader Marine solutions and expressed confidence in Kaufmann's reputation and industry relationships to make Arch a significant player in this sector.
