Teen Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Injured in Fire Truck Collision

An 18-year-old motorcyclist, Jacob M. Chalmers, was killed in a collision with a Boynton Beach Fire Rescue truck on Saturday night. The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when the fire truck, responding to an emergency with lights and sirens activated, attempted to make a left turn on South Congress Avenue. Chalmers, riding a 2023 Vitacci XMT 250 motorcycle and not wearing a helmet, collided with the truck's passenger side, resulting in his death at the scene. His 13-year-old passenger, identified as Jordyn Alveus, was wearing a helmet and was critically injured, taken to Delray Medical Center. The fire truck's driver and passengers were unharmed. The incident is currently under investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
