Bob Cousy Award Finalists Include Smith, Zeigler, Jones

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the five finalists for the 2025 Bob Cousy Award, which recognizes the top point guard in NCAA Division I men's basketball. The finalists include Braden Smith (Purdue), Zakai Zeigler (Tennessee), Mark Sears (Alabama), Walter Clayton Jr. (Florida), and Kam Jones (Marquette). Smith, who is a finalist for the second consecutive year, leads Purdue with impressive averages of 16.0 points and 8.7 assists per game, while Zeigler boasts averages of 13.7 points and 7.2 assists. Sears has also made a strong showing, averaging 19.1 points and 5.0 assists, contributing significantly to Alabama's success this season. The Bob Cousy Award winner will be announced later this month, with fan voting playing a role in the selection process. This year marks the 22nd edition of the award, named after basketball legend Bob Cousy.
