Hyperkin Launches Competitor Xbox Controller

Hyperkin has unveiled 'The Competitor', a new wired Xbox controller designed to resemble the PlayStation 5's DualSense, at CES 2025. This controller features a symmetrical stick layout, a separated d-pad, Hall effect joysticks, and two programmable back buttons, appealing to gamers who prefer the PS5 design while gaming on Xbox or PC. However, it lacks the notable haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that distinguish the DualSense. While Hyperkin has not yet revealed pricing or a specific release date, the controller is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2025. The Competitor is compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PCs, marking it as a versatile option for gamers. This move further blurs the lines between the Xbox and PlayStation ecosystems, as more Microsoft titles are set to release on Sony's platform this year.
