Arkansas Colleges See Record Enrollment Gains

Several universities and colleges have reported record-breaking enrollment rates for the 2024 fall semester. Fayetteville State University saw a 12% growth since 2018, enrolling 7,107 students, while being ranked the No. 1 most affordable college for out-of-state tuition. The University of Tennessee at Martin experienced their highest enrollment since 2012 with 7,507 students, attributing the growth to strong retention rates. Northwest Arkansas Community College reported a 7% increase, reaching 9,017 credit students, thanks to strong partnerships with local school districts. Other Arkansas institutions, including the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Central Arkansas, also celebrated significant enrollment increases, aided by financial aid initiatives and tuition relief programs. These trends highlight a broader appeal and commitment to accessible higher education across the region.
