Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Joins David Fincher's Netflix Cliff Booth Sequel

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast in David Fincher’s upcoming Netflix film "The Adventures of Cliff Booth," a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 movie "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." The film will star Brad Pitt reprising his role as Cliff Booth, now a Hollywood fixer, and features Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan in undisclosed roles. Abdul-Mateen’s character is reportedly modeled after Jim Brown, the Hall of Fame football player who transitioned into acting. Originally intended to be Tarantino’s directorial project, the script was passed to Fincher due to his exclusive deal with Netflix, which will also finance and release the film. Tarantino remains involved as the writer and likely executive producer, while the film is set roughly eight years after the events of the original. Abdul-Mateen, known for roles in "Aquaman," "Watchmen," and upcoming Marvel Studios' "Wonder Man," continues to expand his presence in major film and television projects.
