China grants visa-free access for ASEAN tourists to Xishuangbanna

China has introduced a visa-free entry policy for tour groups from ten ASEAN countries to Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province, enabling stays of up to six days. This initiative, announced by the National Immigration Administration, is aimed at boosting tourism in the region and enhancing China's ties with Southeast Asia. Eligible tourists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia can enter through designated ports, provided they travel with a Chinese agency. The policy is expected to promote people-to-people exchanges and deepen the China-ASEAN partnership, while also positioning Yunnan as a key hub for regional travel. Additionally, China plans to open its immigration management further to attract more foreign nationals for tourism and business. The move reflects a broader strategy to enhance China's international appeal and tourism industry.
