Colombian striker Jhon Duran has completed a £70 million transfer from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr but prefers to live in Bahrain, leading to a 600-mile daily commute to the team's training facility in Riyadh. This decision is influenced by uncertainty regarding cohabitation laws in Saudi Arabia, where living with an unmarried partner is discouraged. Duran's choice follows that of former players like Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson, who also resided in Bahrain during their time in the region. Although some players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, have been allowed to live with partners in Saudi, regulations usually require proof of marriage for rental agreements. Duran will earn a lucrative salary estimated at £16.7 million per year, making the commute financially viable despite the logistical challenges.
