Jorge Martin to Undergo Surgery After Sepang Crash

MotoGP champion Jorge Martin suffered a severe crash during pre-season testing at the Sepang International Circuit, resulting in multiple fractures. The 27-year-old was ejected from his bike in a highside crash at Turn 2, sustaining a fracture in his right hand and several in his left foot. Despite the severity, CT and MRI scans showed no additional injuries, and Martin is set to return to Europe for surgery. Aprilia has stated that neither Martin's riding nor the bike was at fault, with concerns directed towards the tyre performance. This incident, which also caused the session to be briefly halted, raises doubts about Martin's participation in the upcoming 2025 MotoGP season opener in Thailand. Lorenzo Savadori will replace him for the remainder of the development work on the RS-GP25.
