Klee Benally, a renowned advocate for Native issues and environmental causes, passed away at the age of 48. His tireless work to protect sacred lands and advocate for environmental causes resonated within the Native American community and beyond. Benally's activism extended to protesting police violence, racial profiling, and advocating for the cleanup of abandoned mines. He was a co-founder and guitarist of the Native American punk band Blackfire. Benally's work also included publishing a book about his activism and releasing a board game. The Indigenous Action social media group and members of his family announced his death and are planning to celebrate his life.
