Art Cashin, a legendary figure on Wall Street and UBS's director of floor operations at the New York Stock Exchange, has passed away at the age of 83. Known for his insightful market commentary and storytelling, Cashin was a regular on CNBC for over 25 years and penned the popular daily newsletter 'Cashin's Comments.' His career began at Thomson McKinnon in 1959, and he became a member of the NYSE at 23. Cashin joined PaineWebber in 1980, which was later acquired by UBS. Remembered for his wit, intelligence, and dedication to the human element of trading, Cashin also played a significant role in the NYSE Fallen Heroes Fund post-9/11. His old-school charm, including a preference for handwritten notes and cash payments, made him a beloved and respected figure across the financial community.
