Two Children Killed, One Critical in Vehicle Incidents

A 5-year-old boy died after being struck by a vehicle driven by an immediate family member in his family's driveway in St. Charles, Illinois, on Tuesday evening, despite quick response efforts by a neighbor and emergency personnel. The St. Charles Police Department and Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating, with the driver cooperating. In a separate incident, a 7-year-old boy was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing a street in Gastonia, North Carolina. Additionally, a child remains hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in north St. Louis. Police investigations into all cases are ongoing, and authorities are urging witnesses to come forward. The names of the victims have not been released.
