Brazil plane crash victims

A tragic plane crash in Brazil claimed the lives of 62 individuals, including 58 passengers and four crew members, when the ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop operated by Voepass went down near Vinhedo, approximately 50 miles from Sao Paulo. Families of the victims are gathering at morgues and hotels in the city as forensic teams work to identify the remains, with the pilot and co-pilot being the first confirmed victims. Among those deceased were three members of a Venezuelan family, several doctors heading to an oncology conference, and a young girl, bringing a profound sense of loss to their communities. The Brazilian air force has noted that the pilots did not request assistance prior to the crash, which witnesses described as the plane spinning and descending rapidly before impact. Authorities are urging relatives to provide medical records to aid in the identification process as recovery efforts continue. This incident marks the deadliest airline crash since January 2023.
