Police Arrest 13 At Illegal Fight Club Long Island

Suffolk County police arrested 13 people, mostly aged 16 to 20, after breaking up an unauthorized fight club in Shirley, Long Island, where a scuffle escalated to gunfire involving a blank-firing gun. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. at 20 Frances Landau Place, leading to the injury of a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old, both treated for non-life-threatening wounds. Devine Brown, 25, was charged with assault, menacing, prohibitive use of a weapon, and unlawful assembly, and was held overnight before arraignment. The event is the second known fight club bust in the area recently, following a similar incident in June at Walt Whitman Park in Melville, which drew over 70 spectators after being promoted on social media. Authorities are seeking further information from the public regarding the fight club activities. A 16-year-old boy was also among those charged and is set to appear in Family Court.
