Special Prosecutor Appointed for Montgomery Inn Assault

A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate a June 22 incident involving WCPO meteorologist Steve Raleigh and his family, following a parking lot altercation that left two elderly individuals severely injured. The altercation reportedly began after a minor car accident between Raleigh's family and the Morrow family, leading to a confrontation where Doug Morrow was knocked unconscious and his wife Lois suffered serious injuries, including a cracked skull. The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office cited a 'conflict of interest' as the reason for appointing Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve to handle the case. The Morrows allege that Raleigh's son was involved in the physical attack, which escalated after the Morrows insisted on calling the police rather than resolving the incident privately. Video evidence of the incident has surfaced, but much of the police report remains redacted. Concerns about favoritism have been raised due to Raleigh's connections, including his father-in-law, a former sheriff and prosecutor.
