Chilean Gang Arrested for Burglary of NFL Stars' Homes

The FBI has charged seven Chilean men in connection with a series of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes, including NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow. The gang, known as the 'South American Theft Group,' allegedly stole around $3 million in valuables, employing tactics such as breaking windows and prying open doors. Their operations were aided by incriminating selfies taken with stolen items, which led to their identification. The defendants face charges of conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property, each carrying a potential 10-year prison sentence. Evidence presented by the FBI includes cellphone data and surveillance footage that placed the suspects at the crime scenes. This federal case was filed in Tampa, following arrests made earlier in Ohio during a traffic stop linked to the burglary of Burrow's home.
