Ripon Spa Baths to Undergo £2 Million Redevelopment

Sterne Properties, a local family-run company, has purchased the historic Grade II-listed Ripon Spa Baths, which closed three years ago, with plans for a £2 million redevelopment. The project aims to restore the building to its Edwardian glory, incorporating luxury apartments, hospitality-led commercial units, and a publicly accessible courtyard while salvaging as much original material as possible. North Yorkshire Council's deputy leader, Gareth Dadd, emphasized the importance of preserving the building, which represents Ripon's spa heritage and community memories. Managing Director Robert Sterne expressed a commitment to rejuvenating the site, stating, 'We want to roll the clock back to when the spa baths were built.' The redevelopment is part of Ripon's broader regeneration efforts, aiming to attract new visitors and residents to the area.
