Minnesota's Largest Outdoor Venue Mystic Lake Amphitheater Plans 2026 Opening, 700 Jobs

Minnesota's largest outdoor music venue, the Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee, is set to open in the summer of 2026 with a 19,000-seat capacity and an anticipated schedule of around 30 events per year. Operated by Live Nation and named through a partnership with Mystic Lake, the venue aims to attract top-tier touring talent across various music genres and offer an intimate concert experience despite its large size. The amphitheater, built on 37 acres near Canterbury Park, will feature a mix of seated and standing areas, luxury suites, and expansive indoor and outdoor spaces with scenic views of the Minnesota River Valley. The project is expected to generate 700 permanent jobs and have an annual economic impact exceeding $130 million, bolstering the local hospitality and entertainment scene. Additionally, the amphitheater will serve as a key component of the $400 million Canterbury Commons development, benefiting from new local social district legislation that allows patrons to enjoy alcoholic beverages while walking around the area. City and state officials express strong support for the venue, viewing it as a significant enhancement to Minnesota’s vibrant entertainment landscape.
