Exponent Beats Q1 Estimates, Lowers Full-Year Outlook
Exponent (NASDAQ: EXPO) reported first-quarter 2025 revenue of $145.5 million, exceeding analyst expectations, alongside GAAP earnings per share of $0.52. However, the company issued next quarter revenue guidance of $130 million and full-year forecasts of $529 million in revenue and $141 million in EBITDA, both below analyst projections. Net income declined to $26.7 million from $30.1 million year over year, partly due to a higher consolidated tax rate and negative tax impacts from share-based awards. Exponent declared a quarterly dividend of $0.30 per share and maintained a strong cash position of $245.1 million. Management highlighted continued demand for consulting expertise in chemicals, transportation, and utilities sectors, as well as resilience amid economic volatility. Despite underperforming stock over the past year, leadership remains optimistic about long-term growth opportunities.
