Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey Recovering After Dehydration Incident
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, aged 80, experienced dehydration and was treated by paramedics at a campaign rally for congressional candidate Caroleene Dobson in Pike Road, near Montgomery. Witnesses reported that Ivey appeared unsteady and was seen holding onto a beam for support. Her communications director, Gina Maiola, stated that after receiving fluids and being evaluated on site as a precaution, Ivey felt better and returned home to recover. The governor, who declared herself cancer-free in 2020 after being diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in 2019, has endorsed Dobson in the congressional race. The incident was captured on video by local media, showing staff rushing to her aid before an ambulance was called. Ivey’s office confirmed she is now doing well at home.
