Delhi Slum Students Struggle with Online Classes

As Delhi schools transition to online teaching due to severe pollution, students from slum areas like Lalbagh are facing significant challenges accessing education. Many families lack sufficient smartphones and stable internet connections, forcing children to share devices or miss classes altogether. Soni Kumari, a mother of two, expressed her frustration over the limited access, noting that overlapping class schedules result in conflicts between her daughters. Nine-year-old Krish and 11-year-old Anu echoed similar sentiments, explaining how their families' limited resources prevent them from attending online classes. The situation has led to many children spending their days playing outside rather than engaging in educational activities, highlighting the educational inequities exacerbated by the pandemic and environmental issues.
