Evgeni Malkin confirms plans to retire with Penguins

Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins has confirmed he intends to retire with the team, dismissing speculation about a return to Russia for a late-career stint. The 38-year-old forward stated, "I retire with Pittsburgh. The Penguins are my team. I love this team." Although he has one season left on his contract, Malkin expressed uncertainty about whether he will retire when it expires in 2026. He acknowledged a desire to play one final game for his hometown club, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, to say goodbye.
