Teen Jailed for Deliberate Police Officer Attack

David Doyle, a 19-year-old from Northolt, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison for deliberately ramming a stolen car into PC Richard Keel, a Metropolitan Police officer, during a high-speed chase in Camden, London. The incident on May 17 resulted in significant injuries to PC Keel, who is now on a challenging recovery journey. Doyle pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and multiple driving offenses after being caught through CCTV and forensic evidence. He was also disqualified from driving for 81 months. Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley commended the bravery of officers like PC Keel and highlighted the frequent risks faced by police officers in the line of duty. Members of the public assisted PC Keel until paramedics arrived, emphasizing community support in such incidents.
