Sabrina Carpenter's album 'Short N’ Sweet' narrowly claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, edging out Travis Scott's 'Days Before Rodeo' by approximately 1,000 units. Following the chart reveal, Scott's label, Cactus Jack Records, disputed the accuracy of the Billboard results, alleging that significant sales from a late-night release of a deluxe edition were not accounted for. They claimed that this omission could have potentially altered the chart standings to favor Scott. Despite the dispute, Luminate, the company responsible for tabulating the data, confirmed the accuracy of their figures, stating that their processes are reliable. Cactus Jack's letter also suggested that a Luminate employee may have a conflict of interest due to previous ties with Carpenter's label, although this claim was not substantiated. As of now, both artists have refrained from publicly addressing the controversy.
