Putin Attends Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok

Vladimir Putin arrived in Vladivostok to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) from September 3 to 6, following a visit to Mongolia, where he attended celebrations marking the 85th anniversary of a historical victory. While in Vladivostok, he is set to hold talks with leaders including Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, and review infrastructure development in the Far East. Putin's visit to Mongolia marked his first trip to an International Criminal Court member country since an arrest warrant was issued against him last year for alleged war crimes. He also addressed high school students in Tyva, discussing various topics including the war in Ukraine and the participation of trans women in sports. His engagements reflect ongoing diplomatic efforts amidst international scrutiny due to the ICC warrant. The EEF is expected to feature a plenary session with key regional leaders on September 5.
