Pro Football Hall of Famer Billy Shaw Dies
Billy Shaw, a legendary guard for the Buffalo Bills and the only player to have played his entire career in the AFL to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, passed away at 85 due to hyponatremia. Shaw, drafted by the Bills in the 1961 AFL Draft, spent nine seasons with the team and was integral in securing two AFL championships. His accolades include eight AFL All-Star selections and being named to the AFL All-Time Team. Tributes poured in from across the football community, including from Hall of Fame president Jim Porter and NFL Pro Bowl RB Eric Dickerson. Shaw was known not only for his formidable athleticism on the field but also for his gentlemanly demeanor off it. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, and their three daughters, who were by his side at his passing.
