NASCAR Suspends Conner Jones for One Race

NASCAR has suspended driver Conner Jones for one race following an intentional wreck that hospitalized Matt Mills during the Craftsman Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The incident occurred on lap 77 when Jones collided with Mills, who subsequently spun into the wall and caught fire, leading to smoke inhalation that required Mills to be hospitalized for two nights. Jones expressed frustration over perceived blocking by Mills throughout the season and issued a public apology after the race, indicating regret for his actions. NASCAR Managing Director Brad Moran stated that the organization would review the incident further, highlighting the importance of maintaining orderly conduct in the development series. Johnny Sauter will replace Jones in the No. 66 Ford F-150 for the upcoming race at Martinsville.
