Barnsley Signs Joe Gauci on Loan from Aston Villa

Goalkeeper Joe Gauci has joined Barnsley on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season, seeking more playing time after limited opportunities at the Premier League club. The Australian international hopes this move will help him compete for the Socceroos' No.1 spot, currently held by Maty Ryan. Gauci, who transferred to Aston Villa from Adelaide United for a record $2.5 million, has made only two appearances for Villa but aims to gain valuable experience in English football at Barnsley.
