Thai Lion Air Launches Chennai-Bangkok Flights

Thai Lion Air will launch a new direct flight from Chennai to Bangkok starting December 16, with plans to increase frequency to daily flights. This service marks the fourth airline offering direct connections between the two cities, enhancing Chennai's status as a gateway to Thailand. In 2024, Thailand's MICE cities, including Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai, will welcome new direct flights from several international airlines, reflecting Thailand's growing appeal as a MICE destination. British Airways and ITA Airways have resumed and initiated services between London and Rome to Bangkok, respectively, while Air India expanded its offerings to Phuket. Additionally, Batik Air Malaysia will begin flights to Beijing and Changsha from Kuala Lumpur in March 2025, further enhancing connectivity between Southeast Asia and Mainland China. These developments indicate a robust recovery and expansion in air travel across the region.
