Comex Gold Hits Record Quarterly Gain as Silver Rises and Copper Declines
In the third quarter of 2025, Comex gold experienced a significant surge, rising 16.59% to a settlement price of $3,840.80 per troy ounce, marking its largest quarterly percentage gain since early 2025 and its seventh gain in eight quarters. Over the last three quarters, gold increased by over 46%, with notable gains in recent months and sessions, reflecting strong sustained momentum. Conversely, Comex copper declined by 4.47% in the same quarter to $4.8050 per pound, its largest quarterly drop since late 2024, despite showing monthly gains and a year-to-date increase of over 20%. Silver prices showed smaller positive movements, with settlements slightly higher, including a 2.24% rise and modest increases in other sessions, but less dramatic than gold's performance.
