Bombing at Thailand Festival Kills Three

At least three people were killed and dozens injured after a homemade explosive device was thrown into a crowd at a festival in Umphang, Tak province, Thailand. The attack occurred just before midnight during an annual event attended by 8,000 to 9,000 people. Two suspects, including a member of the Karen National Union, were arrested, but charges have yet to be filed as the investigation continues. Officials reported that the explosion followed a fight between rival groups, and there is no wider security threat. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed condolences to the victims' families and directed security personnel to investigate the incident. Tak province, bordering Myanmar, is known for its heavy military presence.
