Cam Ward Sets NCAA Career Touchdown Record

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward made history by becoming the all-time leader in Division I career touchdown passes during the Pop-Tarts Bowl, surpassing Case Keenum's record with his 156th touchdown. He achieved this milestone with a four-yard pass to Jacolby George in the first quarter and finished the game with a total of 158 touchdown passes. Ward's impressive performance included three touchdown passes in the first half, leading Miami to a 31-28 lead before he was pulled from the game to protect his draft stock. Throughout his college career, Ward accumulated his touchdowns across three schools, starting at FCS Incarnate Word and then transferring to Washington State before finishing at Miami. Despite Ward's record-setting performance, the Hurricanes lost the game to Iowa State 42-41. With expectations of being a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Ward's record could soon be challenged by Oregon's Dillon Gabriel, who currently has 153 career touchdown passes.
