Kion Etete Signs New Deal, Joins Bolton Wanderers On Loan

Kion Etete has signed a two-year contract extension with Cardiff City, keeping him at the club until 2027, while also joining Bolton Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. The 23-year-old striker, who has struggled with injuries and made only one appearance this season, aims to regain form and gain valuable playing time at Bolton, currently positioned seventh in League One. Bolton's new head coach, Steven Schumacher, expressed optimism about Etete’s potential contributions as he recovers from injury, highlighting that the club has been tracking him for several years. Etete's move is seen as a strategic decision by Cardiff, who have ample attacking talent, making regular playtime unlikely for him at the Championship level. The striker had previously scored nine goals in 63 appearances for Cardiff since joining from Tottenham in 2022.
