Vigil Held for RuPaul's Drag Race Star The Vivienne

A heartfelt vigil was held in Liverpool for drag performer The Vivienne, who passed away at the age of 32 earlier this month. Family, friends, and fans gathered at St George's Hall, where the building was illuminated in green to honor The Vivienne's iconic portrayal of the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz. The family expressed their overwhelming pride in The Vivienne's accomplishments, stating, 'We will miss you for an eternity and for an eternity we will all love you.' Emotional speeches and performances filled the evening, with attendees releasing balloons and swaying to 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' Fellow performers and friends celebrated The Vivienne as a 'shining beacon of light for the LGBT community,' emphasizing the impact she had on many lives. The vigil was organized in collaboration with Sahir House, Liverpool's oldest LGBTQ+ charity, which The Vivienne supported as an ambassador.
