Amazon MGM Acquires Sydney Sweeney Jon M. Chu Split Fiction Adaptation

Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the rights to adapt the hit video game 'Split Fiction' into a film starring Sydney Sweeney, who will also serve as executive producer. Jon M. Chu will direct the movie, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, known for their work on 'Deadpool' and 'Wolverine,' writing the screenplay. The story follows two authors, Mio and Zoe, trapped inside the worlds they created, mirroring the game's cooperative gameplay that features split-screen combat and platforming challenges. The game, developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts, was a major success, selling over four million copies since its March release and receiving critical acclaim. While Sweeney's exact role between the two protagonists remains undecided, casting is underway for her co-star. This project adds to Sweeney's growing portfolio, including her upcoming return to 'Euphoria' and involvement in other video game adaptations.
