U-Haul Driver Arrested After Fatally Striking Woman in Kensington

A fatal crash occurred in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon when a U-Haul truck, driven by a 28-year-old man, struck and killed a woman on the sidewalk. The incident happened after the U-Haul was involved in a minor collision blocks away, from which the driver fled. The driver lost control of the truck on East Cambria Street, causing it to jump a curb and fatally hit the woman, who was in her 40s or 50s. The truck also crashed into a nearby residence, but no one inside was injured. The driver and a passenger attempted to flee the scene on foot but were captured by police. Investigations are ongoing, and the city's Department of Licenses and Inspections is assessing the structural damage to the affected home.
