Senior director of engineering J. Ayo Akinyele emphasizes the necessity of combining transparency with confidentiality through programmable privacy tools like zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), enabling private yet compliant transactions such as proving KYC completion without revealing identities publicly. He argues that without built-in confidentiality and accountability, institutions and regulators will be reluctant to adopt public ledgers for essential financial processes.
