Cyprus Receives Israeli Barak MX Defense System

Cyprus has received its first components of the Israeli-made Barak MX air defense system, marking a strategic pivot from Russian military supplies due to sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The system, designed to counter a variety of aerial threats, will replace outdated Russian equipment, enhancing Cyprus's defense capabilities amidst ongoing tensions with Turkey. As part of this upgrade, discussions are also underway for Greece to acquire similar defense systems from Israel.
