New York Rangers forward Jimmy Vesey is set to make his 2024-25 season debut against the New York Islanders after being activated from long-term injured reserve (LTIR). The 31-year-old sustained a lower-body injury during training camp and had to miss the first ten games of the season. Vesey has been practicing fully for the past week and is expected to join Sam Carrick and Adam Edstrom on the fourth line, while Matt Rempe has been reassigned to the AHL to make room for him. Last season, Vesey recorded 13 goals and 26 points, showcasing his versatility and contribution to the team, particularly in a penalty-killing role. His return means the Rangers will finally be at full strength, as they also had defenseman Ryan Lindgren sidelined earlier. Coach Peter Laviolette expressed confidence in Vesey's readiness, highlighting his hard work during practice.
